Medi-Cal Expansion in 2022 – For anyone considering applying for Medi-Cal in the year 2022, there is some important new legislation scheduled to take effect in 2022. The legislation will have significant impact for 1) those who might not otherwise think that they will qualify for Medi-Cal because they have too many assets; 2) it will allow undocumented Californians to sign up for Medi-Cal at 50 years of age; 3) it will allow women to stay on Medi-Cal for up to one year post pregnancy; 4 ) it will add certain doula services for pregnant women; 5) it will remove expiration dates for benefits such as speech therapy, eyeglasses and podiatry services.
